This passenger series was produced from HAA to HBC 999 to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the earliest known European exploration of coastal North America by John Cabot in 1497. These beautiful plates were manufactured by Astrographics and issued from approximately September 1996 to September 1997. After this point passenger plates reverted to the 1993-design World of Difference series.
