New plates honor Indiana Gold Star families, MIAs

Aug 15, 2009 — Two new plates will become available to Indiana motorists in 2010.

The POW-MIA plate, available to all motorists, will benefit the Veterans Assistance Trust Fund.

The Gold Star Family plate will be available only to families of fallen service members.

There is no surcharge for either plate.

Design note: Although Indiana’s other optional plates have used small “stacked” letter prefixes and suffixes (example), notice that these illustrations indicate a move to more legible, full-size characters.
